Block: What I Meant to Say Was…

When he ran for 78th district Assembly position, Assemblyman Marty Block pledged in his campaign commercials that “I won't take any salary when the legislature is late passing a budget."

Ok, Marty. The state is handing out IOUs while lawmakers are at an impasse regarding the $26 billion budget deficit. Are you sticking to your word?

His campaign manager Christopher Ward talked with voiceofsandiego.org and said in effect (dramatic license used here) “it depends what the meaning of ‘is’ is.”

Block represents Lemon Grove, Spring Valley and sections of Chula Vista and eastern San Diego.
