NBC's ‘Blindspot' Reveals Additions to Season 2

Season two of "Blindspot" premieres Sept. 14 on NBC

The cast of NBC's "Blindspot" revealed plenty to fans on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con International.

The cast and crew of the action-packed NBC crime drama series -- which returns to prime time for its second season on Sept. 14 -- hosted a panel amid the biggest day of the pop culture expo at the San Diego Convention Center.

The star-studded panel included series star Jaimie Alexander, Sullivan Stapleton, Rob Brown, Ashley Johnson, Audrey Esparza, and the executive producer, Martin Gero.

Before the cast took the stage, a preview of the show's second season was screened in front of fans. A roaring round of applause welcomed the panelists just as the preview ended.

The Q&A session started with some exciting news from Gero.

“We’re excited to announce that Luke Mitchell is joining the cast of 'Blindspot.' We’re so stoked!” he said.

Gero also announced actress Michelle Hurd will be joining season two as well.

The executive producer then gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect as the storyline unfolds this season.

“It’s three months later and everyone has had a rough go. Jane has been in a CIA black site and they’ve been questioning her for three months. The team is dealing with the fact that Jane was an imposture,” Gero explained.

Once the moderated portion of the panel ended, audience members were able to ask questions. One fan asked if Alexander sees herself in her character, Jane Doe.

“There are parts of myself I see in Jane. I'm super grateful she exists. She's so well-written,” said Alexander.

"Blindspot" made its debut at San Diego Comic-Con last summer.

In the past year, the show has certainly built a fanbase, as the room in which the panel was held brimmed to capacity with fans of the series.
