A child was rushed to the hospital Monday after she was struck by a car while riding her bike in Bay Terraces.
The incident happened at 7:15 a.m. at the corner of Alsacia Street and Honey Drive.
San Diego police and San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded.
The girl suffered a minor contusion to her leg when a car struck the child's bicycle, police said. They corrected the earlier information released that the child had suffered a broken bone.
The driver talked with NBC 7 off camera and said he was making a right hand turn when the cyclist rode in front of his vehicle.
The victim was identified by a friend's mother as a student at Bell Middle School.
Police say the child was riding on the wrong side of the road and ran into the vehicle.
