Aztecs Basketball Schedule Released

SDSU looking to end two year NCAA Tournament drought

The schedule for the 2017-2018 San Diego State men’s basketball season is out and for first-year head coach Brian Dutcher the non-conference slate is anything but a cakewalk.

The Aztecs open the season on Thursday, November 2 when they host U.C. San Diego in an exhibition game at Viejas Arena. The season officially begins eight days later when San Diego Christian heads to the Mesa. The Aztecs follow their non-conference schedule with games against Arizona State, McNeese State and Eastern Illinois before going up to Fullerton for the Wooden Legacy Tournament.

They head to Jenny Craig Pavilion for the annual City Championship game against USD on Thursday, November 30 and then get back into the national spotlight. Their final two games before Christmas are both at Viejas Arena, one against Cal on Saturday, December 9 and then the monster:

A Thursday night game on December 21 against Gonzaga, the team that lost to North Carolina in last season’s national championship game.

SDSU starts Mountain West play six days later in Laramie against Wyoming. The Conference Tournament starts on March 7 in Las Vegas. The Aztecs will be looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament after missing March Madness the last two seasons.
