AutoZone Employee Still Inside RV When Man Drives Away: SDPD

Police detained a man after he reportedly drove off with an auto parts retailer employee still inside his motorhome after a vehicle check-up, according to the San Diego Police Department.

SDPD said the man brought his RV into AutoZone Auto Parts on Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa Tuesday afternoon.

While an employee was checking the battery inside the RV, the man reportedly tried to drive off with her inside.

Police said she jumped out of the motorhome and ran away.

SDPD pulled over the RV on Convoy Court just after 1:30 p.m., roughly two miles away from AutoZone.

Police initially said the man may have been accused of attempted kidnapping but has since shifted their investigation to see if any crime even occurred.
