A man was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run collision that sent an 80-year-old woman to the hospital Saturday, San Diego Police Department confirmed.
Authorities say the man was traveling southbound in a 2013 Audi on the 5700 block of College Avenue in Del Cerro. At the same time, a 2000 Saturn was traveling northbound on College Avenue. The two vehicles collided when they approached the intersection of College Avenue and Del Cerro Boulevard and the driver in the Saturn made a left turn in front of the Audi.
The impact of the collision sent the Saturn onto a corner, where it hit an 80-year-old woman walking on the sidewalk. The driver in the Saturn then fled the scene, according to SDPD.
However, police were able to find him nearby and arrest him for felony hit and run.
The 80-year-old woman suffered a head injury and taken to the hospital. She is expected to be okay. The two people in the Audi were also taken to the hospital after complaining they were in pain.
