All those apprehended are allegedly members of the Mexican mafia

More than 100 people have been arrested and captured Wednesday morning as part of a countywide operation, according to officials.

Home and vehicles were raided during the operation on Monday that took place in Escondido, Chula Vista and downtown.

Methamphetamine, heroine, guns and body armor were among things found within the suspects homes. At least $150,000 in cash was also obtained.

All of the 104 apprehended are allegedly members of the Mexican mafia.

“This is a major blow to more than 20 street gangs,” said U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy.
