Four Suspects Rob Cell Phone Store at Gunpoint

Four armed men robbed a Boost Mobile store in Clairemont Mesa Saturday night

Four armed male suspects allegedly robbed a cell phone store in Clairemont Mesa Saturday night, according to police.

Police said the suspects were armed with handguns when they entered a Boost Mobile store on 5945 Balboa Ave. around 8 p.m.

According to investigators, a female employee was inside the store and heard a knock at the back door. When she opened the door, four men with bandanas covering their faces forced their way inside.

Police said the men pushed the woman to the ground and tied her up as they raided the store.

They then began filling a bag with store merchandise and money. The suspects also stole the woman’s purse and car before fleeing the scene, authorities confirmed.

The stolen car used in the getaway is described as a grayish/blue, four-door, 2004 Honda Accord. The license plate number is OK406DLE, investigators said.

On Saturday night, the owner of the cell phone store told NBC 7 San Diego that the suspects had made off with approximately $20,000 in store merchandise, as well as $5,000 in cash.

NBC 7 also spoke with the robbery victim’s brother Saturday night, who said the Boost Mobile employee was shaken up, but safe.

"She's a strong woman. She stays strong all the time. We're just waiting for the detective and everything so we can have good answers and everything. We really hope to find those people and the car and the purse and everything -- the valuable stuff,” said the victim’s brother Vinny Bacilo.
