Driver Collides with Car After Going Wrong Way on Highway

Four people are in the hospital after a wrong way driver on Interstate 5 North collided head-on with another car.

Police said the incident happened around 2:30 Tuesday morning when the driver of a white pickup truck got on the highway the wrong way near the 163 interchange.

The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a white pickup truck was driving south on the highway when he crashed head on with an SUV, leaving both vehicles totaled.

Officers said they are not sure how long the driver had been driving the wrong way when he collided with the other vehicle or why he was driving the wrong way. Officers said they are not ruling out drunk driving.

All traffic lanes have been reopened.
