A man tried to rob somebody with a fake gun in Winnetka, but the intended victim took the prop weapon away and used it to beat the man bloody, police said today.
The would-be robber was hospitalized Thursday morning and police expected to charge him with robbery or attempted robbery, Sgt. Jeff Collado of the Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga Station. The robbery attempt occurred about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday night at Saticoy Street and Oso Avenue.
The would-be robber was bloodied as paramedics treated him and transported him to a hospital .
The intended victim in the robbery attempt was not injured.
