Woman Searches for Dog That Jumped From Car on Freeway

A Chula Vista woman is desperately searching for her Chihuahua, Bell, who jumped out of her car Sunday night as it was stopped on the side of Interstate 15 in Rancho Bernardo.

Yasmin Espinosa said she and her husband were driving home from a Super Bowl party in Riverside when they pulled over on the 15 freeway because she was going to take a turn driving.

As the two switched spots, the puppy jumped out and then disappeared – only the couple didn’t realize it until they had driven off, Yasmin said.

“After driving north bound for about 30 seconds, we noticed Bell was not in the car so we reversed and called her name on the side of the freeway for a good hour,” Yasmin said in an email.

Now Yasmin needs your help to find Bell. The dog wasn’t wearing a collar and hasn’t been microchipped.

She is 2 years old, weighs about 15 pounds and has light brown hair.

Yasmin hopes and believes she can find her dog alive.
