Woman Faints at Gov's Presser

Talk about embarrassing.

Your boss, the governor of California, is holding a big media event to talk about the fiscal battle of the year -- those propositions that could save the state from financial ruin -- and the next thing you know you’re on the ground surrounded by a group of cute firefighters.

Wait, maybe that’s not such a bad problem to have.

But that’s exactly what happened to Sue Carter, a member of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s staff, Wednesday at the CAL Fire Unit Headquarters in El Cajon, when she fainted due to heat exhaustion.

Ironically, the governor was discussing wildfires and reminding all Californians to be prepared -- this is Wildfire Awareness Week after all. At the same time, he was stumping for Props 1A  - 1F.

If the propositions do not pass, money will be taken from the firefighters and stations will be closed all over the state of California, according to the governor.

Carter, who is director of Volunteer San Diego and commissioner of the California Volunteer Commissions, was treated at the scene.

Schwarzenegger spoke with Carter later in the day and reported that she was feeling better, according to a spokesperson.
