Woman Bit by Snake in Pine Valley

CAL Fire units respond to patient in Corte Madera Ranch area

A 24-year-old woman was bit by a rattlesnake in Pine Valley Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The victim called 911 at about 1:15 p.m. in the Corte Madera Ranch area of Pine Valley, just south of I-8, Cal Fire authorities said.

The person who reported the woman's injury was able to send their GPS location to the 911 dispatcher. The woman's condition is unknown at this time, but a hospital helicopter transported her to the hospital.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department sent out their rescue helicopter to help Cal Fire in assisting the victim.

The person who reported the bite directed Forest Service personnel to the victim for first aid.
