WiLAN Moves U.S. Headquarters to San Diego

The Canadian wireless technology development business moved its U.S. headquarters to San Diego

WiLAN, a Canadian wireless technology development business, said it moved its U.S. headquarters from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., to San Diego.

The company said it has operated a research and development subsidiary in San Diego called WiLAN Labs since 2009, mainly focused on advanced 4G technologies.

Ken Stanwood, president of WiLAN Labs, said technologies that form the backbone of WiLAN’s wireless patent portfolio were developed by its Southern California research team, making the site a natural for the company’s U.S. headquarters.

The company’s business development and licensing teams is made up of licensing, engineering and business development professionals with extensive industry experience, WiLAN said.
