Lifeguards were called to a rescue in Pacific Beach Sunday afternoon following reports of a traumatic injury accident in the water.
Crews were dispatched to Ski Beach around 3:10 p.m.
Fire dispatchers intially said a victim was suffering from some sort of laceration to the arm.
Lifeguards said the 25-year-old victim was riding a jet ski when an 18-foot vessel collided with him.
He sustained traumatic injuries and was transported to Scripps La Jolla, lifeguards said.
The crash is currently being investigated.
