Water Main Break Shuts Down Streets

A water main break in City Heights left customers without water and several streets shut down Sunday.

The break was reported around 3 a.m. at 43rd and Dwight streets, San Diego police Officer Jane Jacobsen said.

A resident says this isn’t the first time they’ve had this type of problem.

“There was a flooding a while back and I guess a pipe exploded,” Vianca Cabrera said. “I guess the same pipe exploded and all the water was running through the streets.”

Dwight Street was closed between 42nd and 43rd streets, and 43rd Street was closed from Landis Street to Myrtle Avenue.

“Luckily, nothing of ours got flooded,” Cabrera said.
