Vista Crash Sends at Least 1 to Hospital

A driver suffered serious injuries Tuesday when his car crashed head-on with a tree-trimming truck in Vista.

It happened around 6:30 p.m., shutting down East Vista Way and Bobier Drive for more than an hour, North Comm Fire confirmed.

The driver of a silver Toyota sedan crossed over the center line as he went through an intersection on Vista Way and collided with a tree trimming truck, San Diego County Sheriff's Department said.

The truck was stopped in the left turn lane at the stoplight.

The Toyota driver was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center with head trauma, officials said.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Deputies said it is not clear how fast the man was driving.
