Vigil Grows for Motorcyclist Killed in Hit and Run in Barrio Logan

Loved ones were seen placing candles and photos near the place in Barrio Logan where a 32-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run crash.

Police say a silver BMW turned out of the Northgate Market parking lot onto Main Street as Aaron Raspberry was riding his motorcycle traveling northbound on Main Street at about 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Raspberry slammed into the car but the car continued southbound on Main Street, the San Diego Police Department said.

He was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Thursday, SDPD said he died from his injuries.

Loved ones spent Friday evening placing candles and photos on the sidewalk feet way from where investigators spray painted the street to document the crash.

The driver of the BMW, which should have damage to the driver's side door, has not yet been located, police said.

SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
