Rally Defends Marine Facing Dismissal

Sergeant Gary Stein started a Facebook group called Armed Forces Tea Party

About a dozen veterans and patriot groups attended a rally outside Camp Pendleton Thursday for a Marine facing dismissal over comments he posted on Facebook.

Sergeant Gary Stein started a Facebook group called Armed Forces Tea Party.

The Camp Pendleton Marine posted objections to President Obama's health care policy and encouraged others to go against the orders of superiors if they disagree with the actions.

Stein has been told he is in violation of Pentagon policy that bans service members from political activities.

"He wants a chance to defend himself in a military court," said retired Marine Sgt. Jeff Schwilk at the rally. "And that's what we want for him."

Stein says he has been placed on a desk job with no access to computers at the San Diego Military Recruiting Depot.
