Members of San Diego’s military community who have questions about buying a home or qualifying for a mortgage can get guidance at a free housing resource fair Saturday on Camp Pendleton.
The Housing Resources Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Blinder Memorial Chapel on Camp Pendleton and will include information about loan programs benefiting veterans and active members of the military as well as information on how to reduce existing mortgage payments.
Attendees can also apply to win a free home offered by the Housing Opportunities Collaborative and Homestrong USA.
A two-bedroom renovated home in Canyon Lake, California will be given away to a qualified, honorably discharged veteran who can prove ability to pay property taxes on the home, organizers said.
Interested veterans can pick up an application at the fair. Deadline to return the application is November 14.
There will also be free food and prizes.
