Vehicle Hits Pole, Starts 300-Acre Fire

Fire burns near Fallbrook on Pala Indian Reservation

Nearly 300 acres have burned in Pala after a vehicle hit a pole Monday morning.

The fire started at 10:30 a.m. on Pala Temecula Rd, according to CALFIRE. It is 0 percent contained as of 2:50 p.m. Monday.

An evacuation advisory has been issued for the Rancho Heights Rd. area.

More than 100 firefighters are on scene and are joined by sheriff’s deputies. No injuries have been reported and no structures have been damaged.

CALFIRE sent out a message to three phone numbers warning them of the fire. They have not been told to evacuate yet.
