US Navy Fighter Jet Pilot Safely Ejects During Training

A U.S. Navy fighter jet pilot was uninjured Friday after ejecting during routine training in the ocean between the Philippines and Indonesia.

The pilot of the F/A-18E ejected on final approach to USS Carl Vinson, according to the U.S. 7th Fleet Public Affairs.

The carrier was in the Celebes Sea at the time of the incident.

The pilot was recovered by a crew with the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 4 and was assessed by the medical team aboard the aircraft carrier.
