Two Teens Detained in Bullying Incident

Two male juveniles were detained Tuesday on a misdemeanor charge in relation to a bullying incident at Westview High School, according to San Diego police.

The teens were allegedly making harassing phone calls to a former cheerleader who left Westview High School because she said she was being bullied.

Katie Uffens, 16, dropped out of her high school after a group of students allegedly threatened her.  Her family contacted police after the incident.

Katie's mother Giselle Uffens told NBC 7 San Diego that she is happy the authorities are taking it seriously.

Lt. Andra Brown said it has not been determined whether the teen’s misdemeanor charges will be sent to the District Attorney.

The juveniles were later released and the case is still under investigation.
