Two-Day Restaurant Fundraiser Set for Wounded Deputy

The Deputy Sheriff’s Association of San Diego County is hosting a two-day fundraiser at a local restaurant this week to benefit a deputy wounded in the line of duty.

Detective Ali Perez, along with Sgt. Craig Johnson, were shot and seriously injured by suspect Dan Witczak on Sept. 25 during an extensive shootout in Lakeside.

Since then, Perez has had several surgeries to treat his injuries, which included wounds to the stomach, shoulder and vital arteries in his arm.

Both Perez and Johnson have been released from the hospital, but the community continues to show support for the brave deputies injured on the job.

The Sheriff’s Association has held multiple community blood drives for the wounded deputies, which have all been very successful.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, another fundraiser will be held at the STACKED: Food Well Built restaurant at Fashion Valley Mall from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both days.

For every patron that visits the eatery located at 7007 Friars Rd., STACKED will donate 20% of the patron’s entire bill to support the Perez Family. This works for dine-in, online orders and take-out orders.

To have that percentage of your bill count toward the fundraiser for Perez, you must print and bring this flyer with you to the restaurant (Click here for the flyer).
