Two Arrested after Escondido SWAT Search

Two men were arrested after a SWAT team served a search warrant at an Escondido home early Friday morning.

Police served the warrant in the 700 block of Mission Grove Place at about 2:30 a.m. Friday, according to a statement from the department.

The search was related to a shooting from earlier this week, during which two people reportedly shot at a moving vehicle near the home on Mission Grove Place.

The department's Gang Investigation Unit aided in the search, along with the Tactical Operations Unit.

Inside the home where authorities served the search warrant were three firearms, ammunition, a ballistic helmen and several computers of interest to police. One of the computers has been linked to a recent burglary. Officials at the department are still trying to determine if the others were stolen too.

Authorities successfully arrested two men. One of the suspects was a juvenile. The other was 20-year-old Cesar Alejandro Carreon. They both face charges of attempted murder, gang enhancement, posession of stolen property and other weapons violations.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to call the Escondido Police Department Investigations Division at (760) 839-4717.
