Time Running Out to Mail Gifts

Have you mailed all of your presents, yet?

The deadline for the holidays is quickly approaching.

Today and tomorrow are the two busiest days for the U.S. Postal Service as postal workers sort and deliver millions of pieces of mail.

It was nonstop on Monday morning in the Carmel Mountain post office.

Today is the busiest day for delivering mail and packages for the post office. Tomorrow is the busiest day for people dropping off mail.

If you haven't taken your mail to the post office yet, there is a little time. But the longer you wait, the more it will cost you.

“I was looking at the calendar and thought, I have to get the post office to make sure they get to them in time for Christmas on Sunday,” said Pat Thien.

You can do express mail through the post office as late as Thursday to guarantee delivery by Sunday, which is Christmas Day.

UPS and FedEx can still guarantee arrival by Friday through the rest of the week. But the longer you wait, the more expensive shipping will be.

You can still cash in on free shipping if you're shopping online today, too.  Many retailers are still guaranteeing items to arrive by this weekend and free shipping.
