Three Swimmers Pulled Far Out By Rip Current in Coronado

Three swimmers were rescued from a rip current in the ocean off Coronado, lifeguards said. 

Two children were pulled far away from the shore by a rip current south of the main lifeguard tower near Center Beach. 

Lifeguards responded to rescue them around 6:18 p.m.

A firefighter on the scene said the children did not appear to be seriously injured.
