The Stories That Grabbed Attention on Social Media in 2015

The year’s top social media posts for NBC San Diego had triumph. They had controversy. They had hope.

There was no simple trend for what caught San Diegans’ eyes to click and share on Facebook and Twitter.

But several posts stood out among the rest.

When our reporter, Steven Luke, posted photos of a woman with amnesia in June in hopes of helping the woman track down information on her identity, the post was shared all over the world. Ultimately, it helped her discover her identity and family.

The post amassed 206,722 shares, 28,241 likes and 26,811 comments, making it the clear winner for the most shared, liked and commented post for a NBC 7 brand page in 2015.
