The Spirit of San Diego

All across the city, fans are showing their blue and gold spirit as the Chargers get ready to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The party started early at the House of Blues downtown, where dozens of Chargers fans showed up before the sun came up.

At Bay Park Elementary School, they held a Chargers pep rally. More than half of the student body is decked out in Charger gear, with one notable exception.   Second grader Tyler Mitchell is wearing a Steelers jersey.

"My dad likes the Steelers because he's from Pittsburgh," said Mitchell.

Meanwhile, fans are starting to show up at the Chargers practice facility in Murphy Canyon to give the team a rousing sendoff. The team is scheduled to leave at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
