LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 15: Hundreds of police cars escort the remains of fallen Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) SWAT Officer Randal Simmons, the first LAPD Swat officer ever killed in the line of duty in the 41-year history of the special operations team, in his funeral procession to the cemetery on February 15, 2008 in Los Angeles, California. The veteran Swat officer was killed in a shootout with a man who barricaded himself in a Winnetka, California home after killing his father and two brothers. A woman escaped the house during the standoff before the shooter was killed by a police sniper. The funeral service was attended by an estimated 10,000 people. (Photo by David McNew/Getty Images)

Sheriff's deputies arrested a man Wednesday morning in Santee after about a five-hour standoff that involved a female possible hostage.

Sean Arevelo, 32, was believed to have a knife at 10111 Chantilly Ct., and authorities said he threatened to kill everyone in the house and sheriff's officers when a patrol officer arrived on scene after 5 a.m.

The standoff ended after 10 a.m.

The woman, whom may have been a hostage, has previously filed a restraining order against Arevelo, sheriffs said. She was not believed to be injured.

Arevelo does not live at the residence and could be a transient, sheriffs said.
