Suspects Invade El Cajon Homes Through Garage Doors

Entry gained through unlocked garage doors

A series of 'hot prowl' burglaries occurred overnight in several El Cajon homes, police said.

Early Monday morning, homes in the area of Mollison and Bradley were burglarized by an unknown suspect or suspects, according to a statement from the El Cajon Police Department.

A hot prowl burglary is one in which residents are home at the time of the burglary. In these cases, the suspect appeared to have entered through unlocked garage doors. Other homes reported missing screens from their windows.

Items reported missing were small and easy to carry, police said.

Police reminded residents in the area and throughout San Diego to lock their doors at night, and call police when they hear suspicious sounds.

Anyone with information on the burglaries should call the El Cajon Police Department at 619-579-3311.
