Suspect Sketch Released in Soccer Coach Shooting

The victim is a father of two and wasn't involved in criminal activity a neighbor said

Oceanside police released a sketch Tuesday of a suspect in a recent shooting that injured a volunteer coach.

The man in the sketch is believed to be one of two men who witnesses said got out of a black sedan and shot the coach near the Crown Heights Resource Center on March 2.

The shooting took place around 8:30 p.m. according to our media partners North County Times.

One neighbor said the victim was a father of two and wasn't involved in any criminal activity.

"This is an innocent person," Ruben Almader told the paper. "Whatever happened, it wasn't your average gangbanger that got shot."

One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, the other with a shotgun, witnesses told Oceanside police according to the paper.

Police asked anyone with any information about the shooting to call (760) 435-4264.
