Suspect Robs 2 La Jolla Stores, Abandons Loot

Robberies happened Friday at Tootsies Shoe Boutique and Ogden's One Hour Cleaners on Girard Avenue near Pearl Street

San Diego police are looking for a thief who robbed two La Jolla businesses early Friday morning and left the stolen items two blocks away.

The first robbery occurred at Tootsies Shoe Boutique on Girard Avenue near Pearl Street at about 5:23 a.m., said Officer Frank Cali of SDPD.

Officers were alerted by an alarm inside the store and when they arrived they found the store's glass door had been smashed and a cash register was missing, Cali said.

Officers later came across a similar incident at Ogden's One Hour Cleaners on the same block where another cash register had been stolen.

Sometime later, both cash registers were discovered two blocks away, police said.

No injuries were reported in either robbery as both stores were closed at the time of the incidents.
