A high-speed chase between a California Highway Patrol officer and a suspect raced across San Diego streets on Tuesday.
The chase started just after 1 p.m. near I-8 and Fairmount Road when officers spotted a Chevy Tahoe without plates as the officer tried to pull the driver over the chase began.
Officers lost sight of the Tahoe near I-8 and the 15, but received reports of a crash involving a Tahoe on the 805 at University Ave.
The truck was found abandoned a short time later in the 3100-block of Bancroft Street in the North Park area.
Officers and K-9 units from the San Diego Police Department searched homes in the immediate vicinity for the suspect for over an hour.
The man was finally found 3200-block of 32nd St. He was taken into custody without incident.
The vehicle was confirmed stolen. Police say it had been missing since March.
