Sun Hat Bandit Suspect Arrested

FBI agents arrested a woman in the bank robbery case dubbed the "Sun Hat Bandit."

A "curvy" woman wearing a "floppy" hat was believed to be involved in three robberies on the same day.

The Wells Fargo Bank on Mission Center Road was hit at around 9:50 a.m. on May 10. Less than an hour later, the Mission Federal Credit Union on Avocado Boulevard in Spring Valley was robbed. Then, 20 minutes later the Chase Bank on College Avenue was held up.

The robber got away with cash in the first two robberies but fled before getting a dime in the Chase Bank incident, due to her (suspect’s) cellphone ringing, according to San Diego Police Lt. Todd Jarvis.

On Wednesday, June 9, the FBI arrested Victoria Wilkerson in the 4000  block of Vandever in San Diego. She's expected to be arraigned Friday but until then, is being held at the Los Colinas Detention Facility.
