Stormy Waters Dirtied by Budget Crunch

San Diego's budget crisis claims another victim. The crunch has forced major cuts to the department responsible for curbing runoff that fouls bays and beaches, the San Diego-Union Tribune reported.

The Storm Water Department sponsors Think Blue, one of the highest-profile environmental campaigns in the region.
Budget reductions approved by the City Council on Monday slashed $5.7 million of the department's $48.8 million budget this fiscal year, according to the paper. It’s one of the largest cuts among all city departments in terms of dollar amount.

To learn about the impact these cuts could have, read the San Diego-Union Tribune article “City Cuts Funds to Storm Water Watchdog Unit.”
