Charges have been filed against a man who allegedly put a video camera in a College area Starbucks restroom.
This week, a criminal complaint was filed against James Burkhart, a Colorado resident. He has no connection to SDSU, according to campus police.
San Diego State University police have been investigating the incident since it was reported July 18. The Starbucks the camera was found at is located at the corner of College Avenue and Lindo Paseo, on the campus of San Diego State and next to the dorms on the eastern part of the campus.
Burkhart has been charged with attempting to secretly videotape people in the bathroom. Police said the charge is a misdemeanor.
The camera was hidden behind a trash can, according to police. They are unsure how long it was there.
