Sponsors Chip In To Lift Chargers Blackout

A number of corporations have chipped in at the last minute to prevent a blackout of this Thursday night's Chargers game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

At Monday night's blackout deadline, the team announced that the game would also be televised in San Diego. National audiences would have been able to watch the game either way.

Several sponsors bought tickets to prevent the blackout. NFL regulations require that the team sell out a certain number of tickets in order for the game to be televised.

The team has narrowly avoided several blackouts this season, but faces a constant threat of low ticket sales.

Kickoff for the game is 5:20 p.m. Thursday. The game will be aired in San Diego on KFMB-TV and the NFL Network.

Tickets for the game are still available here.
