Interstate 8 Re-Opened After Shutdown

Still, CHP is turning people away

California Highway Patrol advised motorists to avoid heading up to snow areas on Saturday, at one point closing down the eastbound and westbound Interstate-8 lanes near Pine Valley.

At around noon, all lanes were closed until more snow plows could arrive, and traffic was backed up several miles due to the closure.

As of 1 p.m., one lane on both sides of the interstate are open.

Chains will be required for all vehicles on the I-8, according to the CHP.
