2 Dogs Die in House Fire

House fire burns in Loma Portal

Two dogs died in a house fire Wednesday afternoon in Loma Portal.

San Diego police officers spotted the fire on Poinsettia Drive at about 12.30 p.m. and reported it to the San Diego Fire Dept.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames pouring from the two story home, according to firefighters.

The fire was knocked down in about ten minutes.

Two dead dogs were found inside the home.

The cause of the fire, which caused about $750,000 in damage, is under investigation.
