A small brush fire sparked up in Hillcrest Wednesday morning.
Smoke began showing behind the historical Marston House on 7th and Upas St. at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters said.
The Marston House, constructed in 1903, is near the edge of Balboa Park.
The fire was knocked down shortly after firefighters arrived. No structures were damaged in the fire.
