A small brush fire sparked on Palomar Mountain Saturday morning, sending smoke into the air visible from State Route 79.
Fire crews arrived to attack the vegetation fire just before 10:50 a.m. The site is not easily accessible by foot, so officials have requested assistance from air tankers.
NBC 7 viewers reported seeing smoke near State Park Road.
No evacuations have been ordered and no structures are threatened at this time.
As of 6 p.m., the fire was 80 percent surrounded.
