Man Surrenders After Shooting Weapon in Vista

Man surrenders to deputies Thursday morning after firing a weapon at Bella Terra apartment complex

A man, accused of firing a weapon in Vista early Thursday, surrendered after being cornered by deputies.

Units from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department formed a perimeter around the suspect identified as Westun Lee Harvey, 21.

Harvey had fired a weapon from the Bella Terra Apartment Complex near Hacienda Drive according to officials.

He eventually surrendered around 2:58 a. m. deputies said.

Deputies had to help with traffic control around the vicinity.

The suspect fired at least once, but deputies did not shoot back.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
