Shots Fired in South Park Neighborhood

Police take two suspects into custody

Residents in a South Park neighborhood heard shots fired as an SUV fled the scene Friday morning.

Police arrived to the block on 33rd St. and Nutmeg near Highway 94 at about 4:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Thirty minutes later, two suspects were taken into custody at a 7-Eleven store at Fern St. and Hawthorn St. Their vehicle matched the description of the one that fled the scene. A handgun in the car also matched the casings recovered in the neighborhood.

The SDPD is still investigating to determine whether there are any victims in the shooting. So far, there are none, they say.
