Encinitas residents experienced some tense moments Sunday morning as a man armed with a pellet gun started a standoff with San Diego County Sheriff's deputies.
The incident began when deputies responded to the 100 block of Requeza Avenue around 8:20 a.m. for reports of gunshots.
A SWAT team soon joined deputies to surround the house after the suspect refused to come out.
For about an hour and a half, the suspect ignored officials' calls for compliance.
Finally, the standoff ended peacefully as he was taken into custody.
The man was charged with firing a replica gun.
