A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed Tuesday night in the Imperial Beach area of San Diego.
The incident occurred at 6:18 p.m. on Donax Avenue and Florence Street, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department (SDSO).
Deputies arrived at the scene to find a man in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, the man died at the scene.
Multiple witnesses in the area were being interviewed in the case, SDSO said.
At this time, the cause and manner of death are pending until an autopsy is done by the Medical Examiner.
There have been no arrests made in the incident yet.
