Warning signs are posted along a popular Coronado beachfront following a sewage spill early Wednesday.
The spill, estimated to be about 50 gallons of sewage, impacted the Crown Cove Aquatic Center in Glorietta Bay.
The City of Coronado said a mechanical failure spilled about 200 gallons of sewage around 7:30 a.m. Of that, approximately 150 gallons were recovered and kept from flowing into a storm drain.
The rest was spilled into the beach area near the aquatic center.
The system was fixed around 8 a.m. according to a city news release.
The warning signs will stay posted until samples prove the water is safe for recreational use.
