Landlord Searches for Culprit Who Stole Deployed Sailor's Trailer

Thieves stole a Navy man's trailer from his home in Pine Valley while he is deployed at sea, and his landlord is leading the search for the people responsible while he's away.

U.S. Navy First Class Petty Officer Tony Erixson had his trailer stolen Monday evening. Erixson’s landlord, Story Vogel, has been looking for the culprit ever since.

"It's kind of intolerable, especially in a small community where we tend to trust each other and look out for each other," Vogel said. "It's a huge trailer. It's 20 feet long with attached ramps, four wheels."

Deployed on a ship somewhere in the world -- Even his wife doesn't know exactly where he is -- Erixson can't do anything to get his property back.

"I just felt so bad for him because it's his property and he's out at sea. He's worked hard for what he has and someone thinks it's okay to just steal it," explained Sheryl Erixson. "It's hard enough to deal with deployments and your husband being away, and then you add this kind of thing to the mix. It was traumatizing."

The trailer is 20-feet long, so a very big truck would have to pull it. It has California license plate 4NN7996.
