Series of Quakes Rattles SoCal, Baja

A series of quakes struck in Southern California and Baja region in the last 24 hours

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rattled Baja California Tuesday - one of several that were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The quake struck shortly before 5:30 p.m. about 39 miles south-southeast of Mexicali, and 104 miles east-southeast of Tijuana, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake originated about 13 miles below the earth’s surface.

Approximately four hours later, a quake measuring 3.4 magnitude struck in the same area.

Then, early Wednesday, quakes measuring 3.3 and a 3.2 respectively were recorded centered approximately 30 miles north of El Centro.
