A 22-year-old man from Ramona has been airlifted to the hospital with life threatening injuries after colliding with a dump truck Thursday afternoon.
A driver in a Suzuki was making a left turn from Posthill Road onto Highway 67 around 2:40 p.m. just as a three-axle dump truck towing a trailer approached from the left.
The truck driver had little time to react as the car appeared in its path. The right front of the truck struck the left front of the Suzuki in the middle of the intersection causing the truck to overturn.
The car was blocking the southbound lanes and a sig alert was issued. Detours were in place for approximately an hour for scene investigation and cleanup.
The truck driver was not hurt. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
California Highway Patrol is investigating.
